The color represents a lively translucent quality with a deep ruby hue complemented by hints of garnet. The nose is redolent with notes of currants and black cherry with a touch of pepper, earth and subtle spice leading to the palate that is more reminiscent of elegance than brawn and framed by a sense of intricate balance and structure. Suggestions of black berries and currants from the nose couple with minerality and firm tannins round out a palate impression that will gain added depth with a little time in the glass. A long, layered and polished finish carries forward the elegance and complexity of the palate as a classic expression of this most regal grape.

The aromatics are bold with complex notes of black and blue berries accompanied by hints of red current and spice.  The palate carries forward with a supple display of black fruits, red currents, sweet plum and an earthy quality that supports its elegant yet power-driven Bordeaux model.  The finish is framed by succulent tannins and bright acidity surrounding the individual palate characteristics with layers of intensity that seem to carry-on forever.

Our 2014 JMC Cabernet Sauvignon is an intricate blending of fruit from a few select Napa Valley vineyards Winemaker Mitch Cosentino has been using in crafting award-winning wines for many years. It is a robust yet elegant wine that captures your senses as it continues to evolve in the glass revealing layered complexity and "surprises" around each corner.  The nose is redolent with blue and black fruit that continue on to the palate as welcome notes of red berries and spice suddenly appear.  The tannins are sweet and structured to frame not only the rich mouthfeel but the elegant bright finish as well.

From a stellar Napa Valley vintage, our 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon shows great breed with richly concentrated notes of black current and a touch of black pepper on the nose.  This is a full-bodied Cab blended with 11% Merlot and 7% Petite Verdot for added complexity.  The palate exhibits a complex and layered black fruit flavor profile accented by a touch of red berries with a lush mouthfeel and firm tannins that lead on to a long and layered finish.   This is a wine that will pair well with a variety of beef preparations and literally screams for a charred rare steak.

2012 J.McClelland Cellars -Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Hand harvested from the Oak Knoll District between October 3-12. Each lot was separately de-stemmed into stainless steel fermentation tanks, followed by 20-24 months of barrel aging. The Cabernet Sauvignon was fined with fresh egg whites. Deeply colored and well balanced with an elegant body and flavors of rich cassis, black fruit and subtle oak spice. Firm, ripe tannins enhance the depth and complexity and support a long finish. Ready to enjoy but will continue to develop through 2020.
